Job Description: Work with the Program Manager and Special Events & Marketing Manager in developing all aspects of the Deliver the Dream Volunteer Program including but not limited to the following:

Increase volunteer enrollment by attending and staffing community booths (at least 2-3 per month) which includes community outreach. Conduct outreach to other volunteer agencies. Act as Volunteer Liaison with agencies who provide volunteers to assist in DTD weekends and maintain files with their completed volunteer documents. Assign appropriate volunteer positions to qualified volunteer applicants based on their experience, education, skills and abilities. Update, revise and maintain necessary volunteer documents, forms and training materials.  Recruit, schedule and supervise volunteers for all special events and retreats as deemed by the Program Manager or Special Events & Marketing Manager. Any other tasks that are deemed appropriate and necessary.  

Special Event Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Special Events and Marketing Manager. Processing and tracking of invoices to ensure timely payments. Inventory of DTD stationary and marketing collateral. Assist in planning of special event fundraisers. Contact potential vendors and participants. Assist in creating overall marketing and design elements for the event. Assist with fundraising and marketing campaigns including corporate solicitations & direct mail. Assist in media outreach for events. Assist with volunteer orientation at all events. Attend all special events. Any other tasks that are deemed appropriate and necessary.  

Program Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Program Manager. Attend all retreat weekends. Learn the overall logistics and operations of the Deliver the Dream Retreat program.  Assist with the daily operations during the retreats. Assist the Program Manager with assigning volunteers job duties & assignments. Assist with volunteer orientation on the retreat weekend.  Maintain supplies of all program printed materials and retreat supplies. Schedule and plan volunteer appreciation events as needed. Plan outside outings for families (at least 1-2 per month) by contacting local organizations and finding out what promotions they run for not-for-profits. Any other tasks that are deemed appropriate and necessary.  

Requirements/Qualifications:  A Bachelors Degree from an accredited University.  A degree in Child Development, Communications, Psychology or a related field will be given stronger consideration.  Prior work experience in planning and event coordination helpful.  Must be able to work well with others in a team setting.  Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills needed. A high level of compassion and desire to help those in need.  Detail orientated and skilled in managing multiple projects.   High level of computer aptitude including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Any knowledge of database and website management software a plus.  Must work at least one full weekend a month and possibly Saturdays.   Must be able to travel to retreat locations in the southeast region of the U.S.
