International Gator Day Open House & BBQ

In 2010:

The Broward County Gator Club and the Broward County UF/IFAS Research Center held the 2010 International Gator Day Open House & BBQ.  It was held at the Unversity of Florida Campus right here in Broward and featured: tours of the campus, UF Professor lectures, BCGC 2010 scholarship award presentations, BBQ lunch, a blood drive and more!

International Gator Day is designed as a day when Gators come together to volunteer. Each year on the third Saturday of May, Gators worldwide join forces to positively impact their communities. Gator Clubs from Key West to New York to Seattle to Japan and beyond participate in this day of service. This annual event enlists the strength and size of the Gator Nation to help organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, food banks and clean-up/beautification projects. 

In 2009 :

The Broward County Gator Club partnered with the American Red Cross to be "Ready When the Time Comes." Ready When the Time Comes (RWTC) is a program of the American Red Cross. The purpose is to prepare teams of corporate employees to be ready immediately to help in a time of a local, large-scale disaster. RWTC volunteers serve as “reserves” that can be called when disaster response requires more than the normal corps of chapter volunteers. BCGC will be training in disaster assessment and mass care mobile feeding and can be mobilized and called to action if the Red Cross needs us.
