Support Gainesville in the Google Fiber for Communities project

Author: Mrs. Katie Marquis Publication Date: Wednesday March 03, 2010

You can help assure Gainesville’s selection as a trial community for Google’s ultra-high speed broadband network – a network that would increase speed of the average user’s Internet access more than 100 times – with 1 gigabit per second connections.

Google will choose a few communities throughout the nation to participate in this project. The City of Gainesville has been joined by representatives from UF, Santa Fe College, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and others to create the winning application package for this project.

How can you help? You can nominate Gainesville for the Google project at http://www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi/public/options.
